Cecropia Moth
The Cecropia Moth is North America's largest native moth. Hyalophora cecropia is a member of the Saturniidae family, the giant silk moths. It is found as far west as the Rocky Mountains and north into Canada. Their larvae are most commonly found on Maple trees, Wild Cherry and Birch, eaten by squirrels or eliminated by the pruning of the tree.
